A small school, a clear page.
The website as the school’s doorplate: courses, dates, a gallery and a sign-up form.
Alta-Mood Koolitus is a sewing and machine knitting school on Liimi street in Tallinn. It opened in 2012 and has taught more than 350 students since. The school did not need a portal — it needed a page where a visitor finds a course, sees when it starts and signs up right away. We built a compact WordPress site in two languages: a structured course menu, a calendar, a gallery and a sign-up form with the study rules next to it. The school manages the content itself.
Four things that must work.
No excess design — four functions the site exists for in the first place.
-
Course catalogue
Eleven course pages in three branches: sewing, garment construction, machine knitting. Each page carries the hours, the price and the learning outcomes.
-
Two languages via WPML
Estonian and Russian versions on separate URLs — the school’s students are bilingual.
-
Sign-up on the site
The form sits next to the study rules: a visitor reads the terms and sends the application in one step.
-
Calendar and gallery
Start dates of upcoming courses and a gallery of students’ work — both managed by the school.
One site, two languages
The same gallery on mobile in Estonian and Russian — one set of content, the language switches in the menu.
A site that simply works.
The site went live in 2019 and has been running since without a rebuild: the school adds new courses and dates itself, applications arrive through the form. For a small school this is exactly the right scope — no more, no less.
Not every project has to be big. Sometimes the best outcome is a simple page that has quietly done its job for years.
