FacadeJapan.eu

A facade is chosen by eye. We built a site where 322 Japanese panels can be filtered by texture, tone and stock — and seen straight away on a real house.

Overview

A material sold by the picture.

The official distributor of Japanese facade panels in Estonia — and its main sales tool.

FacadeJapan brings fibre-cement and metal facade panels from Japan to Estonia: KMEW technology, a photocatalytic coating, an inorganic surface finish. The product is expensive and lasts decades, so the decision takes months. The site had to do two things at once — show the material the way the showroom shows it, and prove it is already on hundreds of Estonian buildings.

Challenge

Three hundred textures in one catalogue.

The catalogue holds 322 panels. Nobody reads them all — everyone looks for their own texture.

Stone, brick, wood, render, concrete, smooth and ribbed surfaces; three product groups — fibre cement, Legerair and metal PIR; light and dark tones; some in stock, some to order. Without filtering it would be an endless strip of images. We built a catalogue where 18 filters narrow the choice in three clicks, and put an article number beside every panel — the same number appears in the project gallery, on an actual house.

Real textures from the catalogue: stone, brick, wood, render and concrete — one material, dozens of faces.

Approach

From a product list to a way of choosing.

  1. Catalogue structure

322 panels, three product groups, textures and tones reduced to one filter logic before any drawing.

  2. Design

A dark base, the material shown large, text only where the photo cannot explain.

  3. Development

WordPress, catalogue filters, project gallery, WPML and lead forms.

  4. Launch

Content handover, in-stock marking, an SEO baseline and training for the client.

The project went from a catalogue spreadsheet to launch in six weeks. The longest part was not code but structure: how to filter three hundred panels so that choosing still feels easy.

Nobody buys a facade from a price list — they choose it from a picture. A catalogue where you can filter by texture and immediately see it on a real house does the selling before the first phone call.
